CAMR & CAIR

Clean Air Mercury Rule (CAMR) Documents and Other Information

The CAMR Rule establishes annual mercury emission budgets for coal-fired power plants as well as a cap-and-trade mercury program to aid in compliance with applicable state mercury budgets.

Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR) Documents and Other Information

The CAIR Rule applies to almost all of the states east of the Mississippi River as well as a few states on the western side of the Mississippi River. For Georgia, the CAIR Rule establishes annual NOx and SO2 emission budgets to aid in the elimination of Georgia's potential contribution to PM2.5 nonattainment areas in other parts of the U.S. (i.e. reduce transported air pollution).
