The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) invites you to its first Georgia Air Policy Symposium (GAPS), scheduled for December 19 at the EPD Air Protection Branch.
GAPS will provide a forum for EPD and the local scientific community to discuss ongoing efforts to understand and address air pollution in Georgia. The Symposium comes at a crucial juncture for air quality management in Georgia, as the State seeks to simultaneously develop strategies for ozone, fine particulate matter, regional haze, mercury, and other pollutants. Its acronym, GAPS, highlights the need to close gaps of communication between the science and policy communities so that sensible solutions can be developed. We envision the Symposium to be the first of an annual event that will strengthen communication between EPD, the scientific community, and other interested parties. |
